Updated Reviewing this establishment is difficult. On one end, they are very friendly. The store is immaculate, which I appreciate. It's hard to find an auto body shop that I feel welcome in and is clean. However, their prices are less than desirable. I was quoted $500+ for a battery. It was explained that the new cars have special batteries for displays and that they are more expensive. I am no mechanic, but $500 sounded like that was a bit much. My car is a 19 Hyundai Sonata. Plus, cars having displays in them is not that uncommon. So I went to Costco and purchased a batter for less than $170. I saved more than $300 by not using them. That's two batteries at Costco. I really appreciate their positive attitudes and cleanliness. I was even willing to spend a little more to support this type of business. However, the $300 difference was insurmountable not to leave with a level of dissatisfaction. As you can see, Costco has AGM batteries and they are not that expensive.
Mr. Thomas, as one of the owners of Honest-1 Auto Care, I’m grateful for the review of our facility, our employees, and your experience here. The price you said we quoted for a battery for a 2009 Hyundai caught our attention just as it did yours and is drastically different than the price for a suitable battery for that car, to say the least. We are puzzled by your comments because the only record we have about a quote for a battery for one of your vehicles is with Kelly’s 2018 Hyundai rather than a 2009 Hyundai. The vehicle that we had in our shop, tested & quoted a replacement battery for, was a 2018 Sonata (not a 2009) and it requires a very different, very particular, AGM (absorbent glass mat) style battery that is currently not available at Costco, nor could we find a suggested option or even a part number to look up to compare at Costco's online battery finder (12/3/21). The electrical demands and requirements for your 2018 Hyundai are entirely different from a 2009 model. and thus require a more sophisticated and more expensive (unfortunately) battery. This leads me to believe you may have installed the wrong battery in your vehicle, drastically different from the one with requirements specified by Hyundai. Regardless of where you purchased the battery, we would be happy to evaluate this for you at no charge if you would like to return for one of our trained technicians to look at for you. This will ensure you are able to have the proper information and no further issues arise to the electronics on your vehicle. Thank you, Jon Adams, Owner Honest-1 Auto Care
